Today I have the second part of the Konad polish swatches for you. You can click on the image to see it in full-size.
Special Black
This is probably the most popular of all Konad Special Polishes. It is the old and reliable Special Black. It will show on any color – except on China Glaze Liquid Leather. I tried to apply Essie Matte About You on top of Liquid Leather to check if black would show on matte, but ended up stamping when the base was still wet and messed it up.
Only trouble with this one is that almost any top coat will mess it up, unless you apply it really carefully. The Konad Top Coat is the best to tackle that problem. Nubar Diamont is a possible top coat too, and one that I am using most often, but you have to be more careful with that.
Anyway, if you do not have this polish, it is a mandatory purchase.
Special White
This is one of the original basic cremes too and as useful as black. It is excellent for stamping. It covers well over black and is showing nicely even against Princesses Rule. It looks a bit gray in the picture, but in real-life it is nice bright white. A must-have too!
Princess Silver
This shimmery polish is quite hard to stamp neatly, almost as if it would be little separated and the oil is smudging the edges. Also, it is not very noticeable and the effect is far from the previous ones. As Princesses Rule has shimmer in it, silver cannot be seen at all. Not in the real life either, it is just invisible unless you stare it from an inch distance.
Special Gold
This polish has the same problem as silver, but is slightly more visible and easier to stamp. For some purposes these subtle shimmers may be ok... but in most cases, they are a bit of disappointment.
Special Gray Pearl
This shimmer ended up looking really great. We both have it, but it has been hard trying to find a base color that would make it stand out. Both of these colors do the trick, and the end result is still quite neutral. And that is the possible problem of this color, in most cases, it is a bit dull.
I think this was iso-K's favorite. After we had spent several hours stamping the tips, she still had endurance to stamp her nails with Princesses Rule and Special Gray Pearl :)
Princess Chocolate
This creme would be perfect, if it just had more coverage. It does not work in the images that have large areas of color, but for fine-lined images like in the swatch, it works fine and looks great.
Special Yellow
This is a nice creme, but before stamping it is hard to say how it will end up looking. The polish itself is not a problem, it has nice coverage and is easily compared with the pastel cremes in the previous swatched. Yellow as a color is eager to pick influence from the base color. By looking at these swatches in real life one would never know that they were stamped with the same polish. The one over black looks more like a pastel yellow. But as the coverage is ok, there is nothing wrong with this polish. If you like yellow, it is worth trying.
