The last image poll was dividing opinions. We'll see later if this image makes it to the plate or not!
Next image in the poll is a strand of DNA as wished in the previous post comments. Hope you like it.
Do you have bad nail days? I do have sometimes and I had one this week. Everything was taking extra effort to accomplish and I was in a flu too.
It started when I removed the old polish. I just could not get it done neatly. Applying the new polish was not a bit easier. It went all over my cuticles and I needed plenty of coats to get it even. I also messed up one nail while trying to clean it up with a brush. And the polish, Essie Mint Candy Apple, seemed to pop up every ridge on my nail. I do not use ridge fillers since I feel I do not need it normally. Lots of people seem to like this polish, so I was not expecting all the hassle with it. The color is adorable, which may explain it though. But I felt a little bit sorry for ordering this old polish instead of some of the polishes from the new collection.
While I applied my top coat, it gave a red tint to my nails. When looking more carefully I found a strange red color spot in the bottom of my top coat bottle. So my top coat would from now on be red top coat. Based on the color it must be from Essie Limited Addiction or CG Ruby Pumps, but I have no idea how to color has ended up in the top coat bottle.
So... My top coat was ruined and after a lot of hassle I was wearing a polish that was screaming - "Look how ridged my nails are". Konad to the rescue!
I picked 2 easy colors, Konad special white and Depend 192 (beige) for stamping. And I picked a perfect image (m78) for a bad nail day. It has a lot of stuff and if (when!) the image is not stamped perfectly, nobody will notice. This must be my favorite plate in addition to m57. I use those two plates almost exclusively, they are just perfect!
I was not able to decide how to organize the colors, so I did different versions to each hand. I think I like the left hand version better.
This is one of my regular "stealth manicures", but the subtle images did help to take attention away from the ridges and I actually got a lot of compliments on these nails. Plus I was quite happy myself with this manicure. As it had started as a bad nail day, I skipped the top coat alltogether. I would have messed it up anyway.

In a way I do like the new image, DNA doulbe helix, but... In my opinion a strand of DNA looks a bit different, the image should have the horizontal lines inside the loops. If you know what I mean. :D
ReplyDeleteI think I know what you mean :)
ReplyDeleteThere is another version of this image that looks like this and it contains the pairs, but in my opinion it does not look as good as the one without, so I ended up selecting that one for the poll. If you like the "paired" version better than the current one, please drop a comment.
The ''paired'' one looks a bit better, in my opinion. I guess, that it looks more realistic then the one without the pairs. http://www.homeofficewatch.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/a-strand-of-dna.jpg --> This looks cool, but would probably be too hard to turn into a stamping image, with the different shades and all.
ReplyDeleteThanks, it's nice to get concrete ideas. Almost any image can be turned into a stamping image, but most often the line width prevents conversion directly. Of course anything but simple shadings is also impossible.
ReplyDeleteThis image you sent has a bit different proportions, but otherwise it would end up quite a same-looking as the current one. Unless we would make it a full-nail image. Then the line width would allow more details.
If I have time, I can take a look what it would look like. In smaller size I mean, we have more than enough full nail images for this plate already.
Okey, sounds great! :)
